Yesterday I fell while teaching grandson to drive the tractor, tore my right mcl, I think. Twisting fall. I had a lot of bruises, took 5 min to get up. Too darn old for this! Went to ER. Of course nothing broken on x-ray, but knee very unstable. See orthopod Friday.
I needed this on top of problems with myelomalacia, etc. See recent posts.
Question is what is treatment? I haven't researched much. I think the tear is at the tibia. That's where the pain is worst. I can walk with a brace. The one the ER gives is totally useless! Just a wrap that falls down. DIL had a better one. Using ice for 2 days. I am needed around here, can't just sit around. I have to cook, clean, take care of 5 rental houses, mow 8hrs a week. I was trying to train help on the flat fields. Is it OK to drive? Car? Tractor? Only need the brake on tractor on right foot. I took g-son to 8 stores, etc today with brace for school clothes, shoes. Ice tonight.
My regular Norco does just fine for the new nociceptive pain. It's not tremendously helpful for my neuropathic pain, but I don't need anything extra.
