Biggie, hang in there! I'm rooting and praying for you!

A few weeks ago, I jarred my right shoulder...the one literally hanging on by a thread...and it messed me up for weeks. Then, the left shoulder started to freeze up again. Then, the dog 'lost his legs' in the kitchen and, yup, I tried to help him up and strained the right shoulder again! There's no surgery they can do for it, so I'm stuck, too. I also have to keep reminding my partner that I am disabled...even though there's still much I can do, I can't do it all and I sometimes can't do it at all! She had a total hip replacement...um, yeah, but they can't replace my shoulder! Hugs to you! Enjoy your grandbaby as much as you can...they grow quickly and it will be no time at all before lifting/holding is not a big issue.

B, I replied to your email did you get it? My email is weird, when a neighbor set it up many years ago, somehow it includes my husband's name & mine. He of course never uses mine, he has a completely different email provider, lol. Just wanted to check to make sure you got it.

I’m sorry. Yes. Thank you so much. It’s been a week. 3 appt this week. Also kept sweet baby one afternoon. One thing we discussed at my psychiatrist appt was how I was messing up appts regularly. We were discussing memory problems. I messed up same appt twice this week. Actually missed it one day. Rescheduled the next and showed up an hour early. So embarrassing. I got so upset I cried.

I got my bipap sv machine. I didn’t like it last night but I will adjust.

Thanks

B, no worries about the email. Sorry that you had such a hectic week. My son uses his cpap machine & it does take getting use to no doubt. He says the few times he did not use it he could tell such a difference the next day. He says he feels much better rested than he use. Give it time, you will get use to it.

So I had appt with Rheumy. Two nurse practitioners first 45 mins and then the doctor. Very thorough. They ask if i work. I said no. Ask if on disability and i said going for hearing. Seems the doc then lectured on that. He did X-rays head to toe and hands. Labs. They think maybe R A. Pray it’s not. For sure fibromyalgia and poly arthritis. Haven’t heard back yet. Getting nervous about this hearing.

Praying you get the result you need from the hearing. Hoping it's not RA but something more easily treated.

The NP called Thursday night and said bloodwork didn’t show one thing out of line. That’s good news. She’s says for sure poly osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia but with the multitude of meds I already take they probably wouldn’t add any. She said already on strong pain med with not much relief. They did give me a low dose 20 day script of prednisone. I felt better after a few days. She said I need to take Mobic continuously not just here and there. It is a med that has to build up. Didn’t know that. She said they can inject certain joints if need to.

Still having trouble getting use to my bipap sv machine. My mask is a full one and leaks air if not on just right. I Have to wear cause my brain doesn’t tell my lungs to breath. Don’t want to pass in my sleep. All this adds to my anxiety which stays out the roof.

B, good news on not having RA. Hopefully you will get things calmed down soon. The only thing I question is the comment the NP made about you being on it continously. It's an NSAID & they can cause a lot of problems taken long term, espcially with the gi tract. Anything you read about an NSAID says short term use. My husband was put on it because of a hip problem but it was a short term medication. Do you have a good PCP, if so I would suggest discussing this with your PCP, taking it short term is fine. It typically takes about 5 days for it to get to the therapeutic level. Go to Drugs.com & type in Mobic to get a good understanding about it.

Something else to consider is getting a home use personal hot wax machine. I did this many years ago & boy does it help. The joints in my fingers are becoming crooked & I have nodules on the joints. The hot wax machine feels wonderful. Look online, they are not expensive either, perhaps look on Amazon. Hang in there with your cpap, if you kee having trouble is there someone with the company that can help you out?

Take care.

Yea, that’s why i didn’t continue taking Mobic. Funny my guy from sleep lab just called. He better explained some things to me. I can’t even nap without it. My brain may not communicate with my lungs. Ugh.

So sorry to hear about your beloved dog.
In some ways it's harder to take then the lost of a human friend. I cannot explain it but has something to do with us humans and the thoughts on afterlife or the the knowledge of death. That or maybe I've been so close to my dear pets. I still cannot go down pet food aisles without crying. We can also attached some meaning to suffering and not sure animals can.
Sorry to go off on a tangent. I actually came here to talk about pain medications

It’s ok. I miss him but have a grand baby that same two weeks after he passed. The void was filled very swiftly. Also, we rescued another pup. She is a big dog though. She is excellent. Her owner passed of cancer.
