Chronic Opioid Medication Treatment

I have been prescribed an Opioid Treatment Plan (because of a 15 year battle with Chronic pain) I was started on beginning doses of: 15mg oral Morphine ER, and Oxycodone 10mg as need for breakthrough pain. They are making me itch so bad. Any advice on how to stop it?

Zach,
Itching is an indication of an opiate allergy. Either one or both are causing this reaction. You need to contact your dr and try something else.

I myself, have a problem with most opiates as it causes me to have a sick stomach. Cant keep anything down. I tried many opiates until I found one I could tolerate.

In the past we have had members say they had itching with certain medications. Oxycodonecan make a lot of people itch. How long have you been on this combination? Do you notice the itching to be worse when you take a particular one of the two? Is itching your only issue? I would call the dr & see what he says.

I was put on buprenorphine in a clinical trial and have done well with less tolerance.
Maybe not as powerful but takes the edge off. Doctors are prescribing it more often as it's safer
