I need some advice or at least maybe someone can answer this question for me.  I was only working 3 weeks on a new job when I was injured.  My start date was 7/16 and my date of eligeability for the companies health insurance is 10/1.  The requirements in the handbook states that you must work a minimum of 140 hours in order to receive benefits.  Now I was short 20 hours before I was hurt but with an active workers comp claim in effect and if I am still on workers comp will I be eligeable to qualify for the health insurance on 10/1?  I don't want to call and ask the company.  Lets just say they are not being very "pro me" right now.  Thanks to all!

It all depends on your state law. I hate attorneys however, you may need to talk to one. Most of them will give you a free consult' then try to sell you on how great they are so you hire them. I would spend several days writing out questions and then take them with you to your free visit.

I fell pretty bad today amd I have had several bad days in a row. I am lucky to be working on limited duty status. Yesterday while at work I dropped my keys. While I was trying to figure out how to pick them up, my partner pick them up for me. I felt so bad I had to leave the office. I cant believe I am not even able to pick up my keys!

Boy, been there, done that ...............I drop my glasses all the time and it became a standard joke at my last job as a passer by would laugh and pick them up for me without a word.  I finally gave up on feeling bad about it and tried to make it funny.  I also now use my "little picker upper" i got after spine surgery.  You know the one, long stick with a little hand at the end so you can pick anything up.  I know where your at.  YOu are in the "I dont want to be this way " stage...........I am not minimizing it but am trying to tell you that it is VITAL you move through acceptance of somethings or you will get depressed.  That way if you get better and can again pick up things it will feel wonderful!!!!!!!!!!! I can now pick things up but have to do it slowly and spread legs apart some.  I still give thanks everynight that I can walk.  Just know if you want to vent or complain about your limitations is all ok...we all do it so are here for you!
