Do any of you suffer with daily migraines or migraines on a regular basis?  I have migraines at least 3 days a week sometimes everyday.  I've tried alot of different meds nothing seems to help.   What works for you?   I'm only taking midrin when needed and sometimes fiorcet at night.  I have a bone spur in my neck I'm wondering if that could be the cause of my migraines, or at least adding to the problem.

you might want to get cheked out for Chiari . It is very often mistaken for Migranes. Here is a site with the symptoms. You need a Cervical MRI

I have chronic daily migraines and I have had them now for about two years. They are very severe and no traditional headache treatment has helped me. I have tried a ton of different preventatives and all have done absolutely nothing for my headaches. Fiorinal (Fioricet but with aspirin instead of Tylenol) helped for while and then stopped. I have tried all kinds of different PRNs, a lot of triptans, DHE nasal spray, compazine, midrin, toradol, and a couple others with them all either giving very minimal relief or in the case of the compazine causing unbearable side effects. The headaches totally ruined my life and I was just basically lying in bed everyday practically, hardly living at all, always in severe pain ranging from a 6-8 all the time. Finally my doctor and I decided to put me on methadone after about 1 and half years of constant headaches. It basically saved my life. Though I am not fully functional, I am in college now, something I would not have even dreamed of last year, and I am doing fine. I go full time also and I have been near the top of my class on most of the tests so far. I take 20mg per day (10mg AM and 10mg PM) as well as 4mg Dilaudid for breakthrough pain. I am doing a lot better than I was before, though my social has been severely limited still. I also take lyrica and Topamax as preventatives though I dont think they are helping too much. We are continuing to look for solutions for my headaches but there foes not seem to be much hope for that, but maybe we will find one sometime. My doctor think that it is likely that I will grow out of them eventually anyway, it is just a matter of when.

I hope that you find some relief, I know how awful these headaches can be and I know that it really can wear a person down. You just have to keep on trying and hope that you can get the relief you need. I know that my example is a bit extreme but it really did 'save my life' so to speak because I actually have a life now, even if it has some limitations still. I really hope that you find something to help because I know what you are feeling, and its terrible.

I hope that everyone has a pain-free day,

Circa I know your pain. I can't imagine going to school and having to deal with these migraines. I went back to school and took medical billing and coding classes, but can't imagine doing that type of work now with these dreadful migraines. I couldn't sit in front of a computer all day. Along with that I have back problems.

I hope things get better for you, and you do outgrow these migraines. I'm just the opposite the older I get the worse and more frequent the migraines have become. could be hormonal at times I guess which sets the headache off.

I didn't mention I've had brain surgery also, but the neurologist doesn't think the surgery has anything to do with the migraines. I'll just keep praying that they will find something that works for me, but most of all I pray the migraines stop.

Have a great Monday, hopefully migraine FREE.

Blessings,

Cindy

Razzel, aren't you born with chiari malformation? or can you have it when you are older? my biggest complaint is these migraines, along with neck pain that goes down into my shoulders. I've had a ct scan of my brain and it was fine. I read some of the symptoms of Chiari malformation, and like I said my biggest complaint is the migraines, and neck pain. I do have bone spurs in my neck.

Blessings,

Cindy

I also have a pineal gland cyst which is a lot larger than normal. By the way, but the doctors dont really think that is the problem becasue my spinal tap was normal and MRIs did not seem to show any pressure. Also even if they KNEW it was causing the headaches, a nuerosurgeon I was sent to said that no doctor would take it out.

You talking about your brain surgeries reminded me of this, but they dont think that they have anything to do with the headaches? Kind of a similar situation, kind of.

I hope that everyone has a pain-free day,
Circa
