Hello. My name is Greg and I have a history of left leg radiculopathy

secondary to failed back syndrome. I had surgery, L5-S1 laminectomy, in the

Fall of 2000 and have had leg pain since. My medical history is well

documented and I would describe my pain as a burning and aching sensation

with lots of electrical shocks shooting down my leg. I am also plaugued by leg

cramps especially at night. I do have some lower back pain, but the leg pain is

my primary compaint.

After my surgery I started at rehabilitation clinics, physical therapists, and

physiatrists all to no avail. After seeking treatment and relief for the next four

months I finally was referred to a Pain Management Clinic by my primary

care physician. I started with an epidural back injection which turned out to

be unsuccessful. Eventually I was prescribed opiates to manage my pain. This

continued with good results until I was forced to move out of my home state

of Massachusetts. Here I am in October 2007 and now live in the state

Maine. I have been trying to find a qualified Pain Management Physician that

will not restrict my treatmet options to having ONLY epidural back

injections, of which I can count nine (9) unsucessful procedures to date from

six different doctors. At the present time I have been struggling to find a

Maine doctor that will treat me with the compassion that I believe I deserve.

Does anyone here have any information that might help my cause?
