Hello all!  I am a question for all of you.  Hopefully I can get some feed back.  I am moving to Florida and am currently in PM and have a great doctor.  I have had several injections, PT and Radio Frequency lesioning done along with medication therapy.  I am just wondering how I go about finding a new PM doc in Florida.  I am so scared that I wont be able to find one as caring as the one I have now and one that will keep me on my present treatment plan.  When I move will I be able to find another PM doc who will pick up where my previous doc left off?  I am on Oxycontin for pain and am so afraid that no one in Florida will treat me because of the bad rap this medicine has gotten.  I have been a perfect patient.  No early refills.  Always take my meds as directed.  Can someone tell me how I go about this.  I am so scared I will get to FLorida and not get a PM doc to continue my therapy and then I would run out of my medicine.  How do I do this?  Do I ask my doc to recoment someone (sometimes docs have colleages in other states)?  DO I start calling PM docs in FLorida and asking if they will treat me?  WHat do I do?  ANy info will help.  THanks so much.

Shaw, hi, I am from Florida.  We lived here for 10 years then moved to Alabama. That's where I started PM.  Then we moved back to Florida. I made my email available so email me and let me know what area you are going to be in so I can give you some names if that is applicable or I can give the name of a pain website that is very reputable where I got my PM's name. So if you are moving to an area I am not familiar with you can see what PM docs are listed in that area.  I think some others are from Florida too so hopefully we can get the state covered for ya!
