I am taking care of a person that has chronic liver disease. He has reached the stage where he has lost interest in eating, has to be encouraged to get up and move around and is unable to live alone. What is the process of getting him on disability. He has been seeing a liver doctor and this will be his 3th visit.
What do I need to do to help this person, since he is unable to help himself. He has a problem with remembering and also following thur  on things that has to be done.

Many people with cirrhosis have no symptoms in the early stages of the disease. However, as scar tissue replaces healthy cells, liver function starts to fail and a person may experience the following symptoms:

  • exhaustion

  • fatigue

  • loss of appetite

  • nausea

  • weakness

  • weight loss

  • abdominal pain

  • spider-like blood vessels (spider angiomas) that develop on the skin

As the disease progresses, complications may develop. In some people, these may be the first signs of the disease.

Scill you don't have to go to the SS office. A phone call will do and they will mail you all the forms and set up a phone conference. Susie
