Has anyone heard of Pamelor for chronic pain? My Dr. prescribed it, I looked it up & it sounds terrifying. I'm also taking Lexapro & the internet said never to combine them. All good experience or ideas welcome! I'm not taking it - yet.

You've brought to light a problem that we all face...making sure our medications are OK to take together. Call your pharmacist and ask why they didn't warn you...also ask the doc. On rare occasion doctors will prescribe medication 'off label' meaning not going by the recommendations set by the FDA, but when there's other good alternatives those should be explored first. IMHO...

Let us know what happens with your meds, if you would please. It really is scary mixing all of these drugs we need.

Thanks for your input. I have Dr. appt Friday & will bring up my concerns. I am still looking for input from anyone who's taken or is on Pamelor.

I tried it once. NEVER AGAIN. I'm talking phychotic scary stuff here. My old Dr prescribed it when my kids were still babies. (I am a single disabled mom) What a quack. I think I hallucinated stuff from Texas chainsaw massacre... in that vein anyway. I was never so scared in my life. That was back when all that stuff was going on with that lady killing her kids. You can imagine my horror. I trashed them and was terrified of myself for a week til I was sure it was out of my system.
Plain old prozac and tramadol for me, thank you very much!
I now avoid everything within that class of drugs.
