Glad you got to take your test! I've been following your story of Diarrhea, and I'm glad it has finally slowed down some. I was doing absolutely terrible a few weeks ago with D about 10-20 times a day. I lost 15 pounds in two weeks! I was up to 40mg of Prednisone and it was no help. Then finally, my doctor tried Flagyl, even though my stool tests were negative, and I got dramatically better within 48 hours. Now I'm just my usual crampy whiny self, but thank God I'm back at work and functional. My brother is an ER doc and said that Flagyl in addition to being an antibiotic, has anti-imflammatory properties, although they don't understand the mechanism for that. I was just wondering if they ever tried Flagyl for you? Hope you did well on the test. Hugs!!!

Hey guys! Interestingly enough, I HAVE had success with Flagyl on several occasions. I've taken several 10-day courses of it and every time I found my diarrhea improved for about a couple of months or so. It might be time to go that route again. I will bring it up to my GI on Wednesday when I see him for a follow-up. That could be very helpful.

I am glad to hear you in better spirits, Sarita.
48 y/o woman.  Diagnosed 4/06 after colonscopy, SBFT, CT-scan all showed crohns. 3 months later, after pred and remicade, all tests showed no crohns. December '06 had adhesions cut through a laparoscopy. Now just taking Glycolax, Ultra Fiber Plus, probiotics, and vicodin as needed. Experimenting with gluten-free diet per naturopath's tests.
