To be honest, I really need to lose some weight.  This could be part of the reason why no one believes it when I tell them my doctor suspects I may have Crohn's.  I have tried Metabolife (not the Ephedra kind, but the kind they put caffeine in instead of Ephedra) and I was able to drop about 50 lbs.  Sadly I gained it all back.  sad (long story!)
Anyhow do you think something like that would be safe with suspected IBD?  I have considered trying Alli--I know that works directly on your GI tract and I believe the caffeine in the Metabolife would probably do the same.
I would ask my GI but my GI doesn't think I have IBD.  I could ask my internist who thinks I do have IBD but she may suggest I ask my GI (purely an assumption on my part--honestly I am getting sick of seeing doctors and asking them stuff!).
Anyhow any opinions and input would be great!  I am watching what I eat now and I do exercise--it's just taking so long to get anywhere!
Thanks a bunch!

Try a dietician? That's what i'm doing. I was diagnosed with crohn's and i have a weight problem (which isn't the norm but it does happen). I've got an appointment with a dietician next week to address the weight and other crohn's related issues.

I also had a 50ish pound weight gain and I lost it the natural way (no diet pills and such), I cut food portions back, I cut out all sugar (except natural sugars in fruits and veggies), no processed foods or fast-foods and I exercised (still do all of the above actually) and lost the weight no problem and quickly. These changes also contribute to my CD improving, especially cutting junk out of my diet and eating smaller portions of food...drinking nothing but water and chamomile tea also helped which is why it think it came off so easy. And because I stick with this, there has been no weight-gain come back.

My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it!  LOL  :)
