Just a word about miso. It is forbidden on the SCD. Not certain why, except that it appears to be fermented rice, barley or most commonly soy, which would be carbs. Best I can tell, it isn't addressed in the Maker's Diet, but his use of soy is limited. Just throwing that out there.
FYI, I recently made some miso soup from scratch. My dh and I LOVE miso soup. We often have it at a local sushi restaurant. Now, to be graphic, I've often noticed after eating at the local sushi restaurant that something tears me up. Never put two and two together until I made the soup at home. Both my dh and I had major issues. Again, just throwing this out for what it's worth. Maybe it's the wrong kind of fermented product for some? I dunno... Anyone else ever experience this?
