Does anyone get really low stomach noises.  I have a lot of rumbling in the pelvic and rectal area.  It is such a strange feeling, and sometimes it creates a feeling of needing to go to the bathroom.
I get a lot of noise higher up as well, but the lower area seems so different.

The noises emanating from my large bowel are accompanied by bumps and rattles too. Feels like I have a baby in there kicking sometimes. Usually when I have my worst rushing, gurgling sounds it is in the upper part of the abdomen in the ascending and transverse colon -- I think that's because my disease in the lower small bowel. It takes a lot of force sometimes to move the liquified contents of the small bowel into the large intestine. Then when it makes it through it's like, free at last. Let's rhumba!

A lot of the noises are just functional, but if you experience a sudden increase in bowel sounds, especially if accompanied by other signs of disease activity, might be time to pay attention. It has been my experience that I get a big increase in bowel sounds before an obstruction -- then everything goes quiet.

Since dropping on the steriod I have been hearing it makes nosies alot. I didnt even eat anything yet. It happened this morning didnt even eat anything yet. I know that is when i will have to be running to the bathroom in minutes. I ate and had to go to washroom right away afterward. Soft stools no diaherra. Sounds like a war zone in their but as soon as i go to the bathroom and get it out dont hear it again.

Yes, I get gurgling way down in the right pelvic area. When I had a laparoscopy in 1998 there was a loop of small bowel in the pelvis. My sigmoid colon was also pulled over to the right and stuck on the right pelvic wall. The gurgling can't be in my sigmoid colon though because I think then I would have urgency as it wouldn't have time to solidify.

I also have a lot of gurgling which feels like it is shooting out of the terminal ileum and I can actually feel it traveling upwards and then across. After that, its quiet.

Thanks to all for the reply!
I will watch and listen to my body for any changes. I do have a fistula between the bowel and the vagina or bladder, we just can not find it. Don't know if this has anything to do with it but I will keep an eye on it.

my girlfriend always makes the same frightened face whenever we're laying around together and my stomach makes some loud noises. she always asks 'do you have to go?' with a very :happysad: kinda look on her face.

being a crohns patient that had a total obstruction, the noises are almost reassuring for me, because the days before i was admitted into the hospital and vomitting constantly/not able to go to the bathroom, my stomach was silent cause nothing was moving around down there.

so for me, stomach sounds = stuff is moving = not having surgery tomorrow. :)
