My GI doc told me to wait at least a year after my last treatment before getting pregnant.  We were really nervous about getting pregnant after being on remicade, but it may relieve you too know that we were able to get pregnant as soon as we started trying and I carried her to full term.  She is perfect in everry way, so get yourself healthy and you should be able to have the family you want.

We have had several members here give birth to "Remicade babies." These women continued receiving infusions during their pregnancies. One member has had 2 Remicade babies.

Remicaid is a category B medication. It is fine to take during pregnancy according to both my perinatologist and gastroenterologist. I just want to know how long after starting treatments can I try to conceive. Steph is the one that has had two remicaid babies and is very informative.

I don't know that there is a specific time period you should wait. I would ask your GI and you should be able to start trying ASAP. I got pregnant about 3 weeks after my third loading dose (I have been on it and then off and now back on remicade). I am currently 8 weeks. GOODLUCK!

My doctor recommended being off Remicade for 3 months prior to conception. I am currently in my 12th week. I got pregnant while using Remicade and so far everything is good. I find that doctor's all say different things. I am in Canada and there is apprehension by some doctors (my Gastro.) to prescribe it at all and others will allow it if a women is flaring very badly and no other options are working.

My GI never gave me a time line. I don't know that it really matters as long as you know you are responding well to it. That way you don't have to risk going off of it and then flaring or continuing the current flare that caused you to go on remicade to begin with . Click on my user I.D. and email me if you like. I have 2 gorgeous remicade babies and I'm hoping to make a 3rd sometime very soon (this week maybe??? :) sorry for the TMI) I have had much success with remicade and pregnancy and will be happy to share my experiences.

I see a dr. at Mt. Sinai and had been on remicade for 5 months when I 1st saw him. He said to go ahead and try and there would be no problem with safety. Good luck! :-)
