This may be a stupid question, but does anyone else have this constant feeling like you have to have a BM? I try to go but am unsuccessful. I don't know if it's roids or not or if it's normal.... It's really uncomfortable...

Sounds like you have proctitis going on from inflammation of the rectom (from CD), if your anus hurts then you may have a fissure(s), does it feel like when you do poop like you're pooping out razor blades as well?

To treat proctitis you'll need rectal meds like cortifoam (my favorite because it works) but there are other kinds as well, you should see your doc.

yes this happens to me sometimes. I have just about everything in or around my butt so it could be a number of things for me (hemroids, skin tags etc)  I seem to remember some discussion about the urge to go on the board before so hopefully some more that know about this will post. I wanted to come by and let you know you are not alone and I know how frustrating that can be. Also when I flare my butt sometimes hurts for a while after D and I am miserable. It almost makes my eyes water it hurts so bad and I can barely sit down. Which sucks if this happens at work! Hope you get some answers soon! Karen

Having a stricture will also give you that "need to go" sensation.

No 'roids or fissures that I know of. I haven't had any noticeable blood lately, either. I do have a skin tag just inside, but it's not huge or anything. I am not having a lot of D or anything, it's just soft. I actually have only been going like 3 x a day the last few days, so I don't think it's from irritation. It does not feel like razor blades when I poo, it's more of a pain after. And most of the day. Please tell me it's not a stricture.....

Do you maybe have an abscess?

I don't think it is different, no bulge or anything, it just feels like it inside kinda. Pressure from something. Must just be irritation or something....

I do get that (I posted the same question).  The best response I got is to clench / squeeze closed tight for 10 full seconds.  Release.  Repeat.   It does actually work - even though I didnt believe it.    I HATE that feeling - I know what you are feeling.

If I can take a quick nap, that always helps.  It is gone when I wake up, but that is not always practical.

I get this too and was wondering what the deal was. I'd only get it for a couple of weeks at a time. it was always after i had D and it lasted about 30 minutes. it would just feel like internal pressure. mine started up off and on after I had my subtotal colectomy last february. i don't have blood in my stools. Just an urge. it cost me an extra 5 minutes on the toilet to make sure it wasn't something real!

I definitely think that this is a proctitis issue, rectal meds are needed to help clear this up.

Ugh. That means I am going to have to call the doc on this... I feel like I am bugging. I have called twice this week for my results, and still don't have them. They have them, but I am still waiting for the nurse to call... Maybe it will go away.

When I'm in a flare, I have pressure like I need to go but can't. Or maybe I've been going for a couple of hours but all day long it feels like I still have to go more. I always think of it as my muscles restricting and pushing when there's nothing there to push out. That's what it feels like to me.

Yeah, it feels like that-pressure. I hate that. How do I get rid of it? It drives me crazy all day & doesn't go away. I would love any hints to get rid of it...

After I poo, I get these pin poke pains in my anus. But not while I am going. And that goes away after a little while, but the pressure, feeling like I have to go is never ending....

I also have the pressure and the pin pokes and it drives me CRAZY!!!!!!!

Especially at night, and then I get paranoid that what if there is something there and I fart and then it will come out.

I deal with it every night and a lot during the day.

Then, you can never pass gass when you feel safe and secure, but then you are afraid to just let go, then the pressure builds because you can't get to the bathroom right that second.

I take colcort and I swear it makes it worse.  I tried the suppository things and they wouldn't stay in, would come right back out.

The only solution I have found is to stand against the wall, breath deep and relax.  Then, after hopefully a few minutes I will fart and I can look to make sure it was just air, then I'll do better.

A lot of times, I have to pass gass to get that pressure pushing feeling to stop, but try to sit on the toilet and fart just makes it worse.

Try cortifoam....proctitis will not just go away, you need to treat it with a good rectal med, I've tried them all and cortifoam is the best in my opinion.
