Just needed some oppinions.  My daughter (17) went thru the Osmoprep yesterday for a scope today.  They ended up cancelling because she is on an antibiotic for her throat.  By the time they cancelled she had alread taken the Osmoprp pills.  My question is for anyone who has taken these:  She is so sick still this morning.  She was fine thru the first round of them yesterday and then after the second round she got so sick.  She is so sick to her stomach that she cant even look at a bite of food. All she wants to do is lay around and sleep.  Has anyone had this experience with this type of prep?

I've taken the Osmoprep pills twice now for two different colonoscopies. The 2nd time I took them was a bit worse for some reason. That first round of pills is fine. But the 2nd round of pills really starts to kick in the 'ol cleaned out process.

The process of the clean out is so violent and exhausting throughout the night, it's no wonder your daughter is sick. I felt very icky all day, even after the colonoscopy. Didn't want to eat much because my stomach just felt "bleh" and my body was SO tired after the all-night of D. It just completely drains you. The thought of food after having had such an exhausting night of D can be the very last thought you want in your brain.

Bless her heart having to go through the Osmoprep and THEN not getting to have to scope done! I would make the simple suggestion of her maybe munching on some saltine crackers, even if she doesn't feel like it. Her body is weak from the prep process and she needs to start getting something flowing through her system. Maybe some Sprite, Ginger Ale or hot tea to go along with that.

Hope she gets to feeling better today!

do as the last person said and eat lightly. i was sick for a week after the colonscopy and I wasn't careful of what I ate. She will get better, just eat like she had the flu.
