Hi all,
I know that sounds very dramatic but i had D last night and it felt like my bowel had kind of collapsed i know that doesn't really make sense but does anyone know what i mean or experienced anything like it? It was really painful, i was in tears on the toilet. I couldn't stop the pushing sensation and when i tried to get off the toilet it was really uncomfortable trying to clench my bum cheeks back together. I don't understand what went on but it was horrid. I hate not understanding my own body. Any ideas? Sorry TMI.

I'm wondering if from the straining you maybe have a very bad hemmoriod? Have you had any movements since? Any bleeding or swelling?

I hope you feel better soon,

Sounds like a rectal spasm. They are lovely aren't they. The GI can give you anti-spasmotics for this. Usually happens to me in a vicious flare or when I've eaten something I shouldn't have. Try a liquid diet for 24 hours and see if this gets you back on track.

Thankyou for your replies. Im feeling much better now. I don't think it was haemmoroids as i had a look 'down there' and it all seemed normal. rectal spasm sounds like a good way of describing it, i'll go do some research on it-thankyou for giving me something to go on. I've never had it before but it was horrible! I'd eaten a cream doughnut at lunch time which could explain it although i've had these before with no trouble-maybe it was a dodgy one!
