So Sunday I woke up not feeling to well...by 2 pm I was down aching, headache, chills soar throat...full on flu symptoms. I was scared because I am on 6-mp and have really avoided catching this darn bug! Well I stayed in bed Sunday and all day Monday. Its now Tuesday...I feel 60% better. I probably could have went to work but I stayed home just to be safe and not get anyone else sick. I did read about what to do on the onset of getting sick and it said take 2000 mg of vit c every two hours for 6 hours then 1000 twice a day until better.
Long story short. I think I will be fine by tommorow. Crohns did not react. And I was only sick for about 36 hours...considering the 6-mp I think thats pretty great!

That's great to hear Doc...I take the 6mp and am around sick people all the time and so far it hasn't been an issue. I wash my hands all the time and take care to keep them away from my eyes and stuff like that. The one time recently I did feel myself getting sick I drank orange and or tangerine juice like it was going out of style and ate echinacea with equal ferociousness. It seemed to do the trick...I felt a bit crappy for 2-3 days but that was it.

You might ask about taking some zinc supplements when you feel "the crud" coming on. They are lozenges and have proven beneficial in many cases to shorten the duration of viral illnesses. Sometimes they cause an upset stomach so it's best to take them with food. Mmm, zinc!
