Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if any of you have had white stools. I previously thought that my white stool was mucous, but apparently they are not synonymous. Is this something that others have experienced? I'm afraid that I might have another problem in addition to Crohn's.
Female, 30. Diagnosed August 2007 with Crohn's Colitis. Asacol 400 mg 12 x day. Canasa, Cortifoam, just finished Prednisone (tapered from 60 mg). Orthotricyclin Lo, Calcium, Trinity (probiotics), and multivitamin.

Apparently it Sounds like your gallbladder or your liver.
Both contribute to the color of your stool and it sounds like you may have a blockage in the duct that connects the liver & gallbladder to your small intestines.
I do believe that a call to your doctor to see if they want to do any blood tests to check your liver function would be a good idea.

It could be from meds but better safe than sorry.

White stool is a very common symptom of gall stones. Unless you've eaten something that would discolor your motions.

Not to mention several forms of 5ASA drugs!
I've had this during kidneystone attacks as well. I don't know the connection, but when I have large stones I get weird bowel movements..

Yes, I have had white stool, both after a barium follow-thru, and during acute gallbladder attacks.
We CDers are obsessed with the color of our stools aren't we. When my daughters get sick, my first question is always, are you poopin and what color is it. They usually yell "ooooh yuck" who looks at their poop? that's weird!" ...well, we do!

This could be caused by a liver problem...kind of a hefty explanation, but you should get your liver function tests done!
