Does anyone else experience night sweats?  I'm not on prednisone and every time I check my temperature it's normal.  I don't think my room is too hot, but I seem to sweat at night and can't figure out why?

Does anyone else have this?

I have them all the time when I am sick enough. It doesn't seem to have to do with temp at all, rather severity of my disease. Drives me nuts!

All the time!!! They started before the pred, but got really bad while i was on prednisone. I know there have been similiar posts about this. I still get them and I'm not longer on any steriod. For me, it's just part of the disease.

My GI always asks me in my checkups if I've been having night sweats. I have them occasionally. He said he asks me that because it can be a sign of inflammation.

This is a very common problem and there isn't really anything to do about it. I try putting a cool wet rag around my neck but then the pillow gets wet. I've had to change night clothes three times in a night before.

Thank you all for the replies. I started wondering if I had an infection or lymphoma or something. Good to know others have this as well and it's just a part of the disease. Not much to do about it except try to get better I guess.

If others have experience with this I'd love to hear from you.

thanks

Hi Mike, I get night sweats all the time when I'm just about to flare...its my tell-tale sign that something is brewing. I never have a temperature with them either.

P.S. I made sure I went back and checked your name twice. Lately , I've been reading things all wrong with these blurry 51 year old tired eyes. I was going to ask you if you were menapausal , but I'm glad I checked....could have been another one of my "late night bloopers!"

Hope these resolve for you...its bad enough waking up with cramps, D, nausea etc etc.... and when those things are finally absent so we could foreseably have a good night 's sleep.... we get night sweats...!!!!! I guess this disease just doesn't want to give us any kind of respite at all. There! take that, and that, and that,.....and then get up and change your sheets and pyjamas to boot!
Not fair!
Now I'm at the wonderful age where I can't tell anymore if they are night sweats from CD or just a plain old HOT FLASH! You , Mike at least have that going for you hon!
Hope you sleep better soon!.
Tired, menapausal old Mary

.....I get them all the time just prior to going into a flare....
I have found nothing to help with them
I do make sure I sleep in a sleeveles t shirt to try and help and have window open and ceiling fan on but to no avail.....

That's totally how I know that it's night sweats and not just me getting too hot in the night. The sweat from night sweats is different too - there's a lot of it all over and it dries up quickly once I wake up.

I have night sweats EVERY NIGHT.  It drives me crazy.  I've never been on pred and I never had a problems w/ night sweats until I was diagnosed w/ Crohn's three years ago.  I sweat so much my hair is drenched, my clothes and underwear are drenched.  Last night, in fact, I woke up with a fierce night sweat.  I had a sleeveless shirt on and it was drenched like I had jumped in a pool.  It's so uncomfortable.  I always keep a dry set of clothes handy so I can change without turning the lights on.

I've had severe sweats, not just at night. Just had surgery and am finding that the sweats seem to be subsiding. I guess that's because the inflammation if gone.
