I just got off prednisone about two weeks ago and the past few days have been awful as far as my stomach goes.  My joint pain has also started returning as well.  I am really scared my eyes will flare back up soon as well.  sad
Is this normal for symptoms to come back that fast after getting off prednisone?  I wasn't on it for very long--a little over a month was all.
On a positive note my moon cheeks are gone!  :-)
Thanks to everyone who responds!

Well, Does prednisone cure you Crohn's, not that I know of.   So, did you just mask your symptoms or cure them.  I would call your doctor.

Unfortunately chron's can come back while your on the meds so it can certainly come back as soon as you go off them. Prednisone is a great mask. You can feel great while just beneath the surface your body is just as sick as it was before.
I hope you start to feel better soon.

Prednisone is a temporary drug typically used to kick start maintenance meds...prednisone alone will only mask symptoms, once it's out of your system or you've weaned to a low enough dose, the crohns symptoms will reapear since pred does not treat the disease only the symptoms...that's why you need to be on maintenance drugs along with pred to help kick start the maintenance drugs...pred is only a short-term fix when taken alone, like taking a break from the disease for a short while.

My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it!  LOL  :)
