Ok well my doctor's appointment is Monday at 4:30. I have been waiting awhile for this appointment as I haven't been feeling that well since i started Imuran. Anyways, its tough to get in to see my doc, and I dont wanna mess up or forget to say anything at this next appointment. Basically, my last colonoscopy at christmas time showed inflammation in the ileum with some narrowing due to the inflammation. I have been taking entocort at varing doses for nearly 1.5 years now. The first year and a bit was only 3-6mg/day, but lately i've been taking the full dose of 9mg for approx 6 months now. So anyways, the GI wanted me on something for a more long term solution to my inflammation/stricture and he started me on Imuran. So I lasted a month and a half on Imuran before quitting due to side effects...ack...he still doesn't know I quit lol...I just told him Im having a rough time, and he said to give it 3 more weeks, I gave it 4 weeks, then quit because of no improvement. ANYHOW, bottom line question is: If you've had a bad time with Imuran, and were feeling symptoms that needed to be helped sooner rather than later...would you try 6mp? or would you sorta encourage your doctor to prescribe remicade or something like that? ...dare i even mention a short/low dose of pred?

Hi Hope you make out good with your appointment. Gee I"ll tell you I haven't a clue what you shoud do here I feel the same way you do aqbout this med stuff I find myself always wandering what I should be doing. Has the pred. opened your narrowed ileum before ? I had to get off Imuran and off pred. after over a year. Looking at Hum. now as the Rem. didn't work for me.I know lots of people seem to be helped by Rem. If you feel like it mention the Rem. it don't hurt to talk about it and I'am not sure how your feeling .I had my TI removed due to it not responding to meds sort of a no choice situation for me . Anyway sure hope you and your GI get things going in the right direction for you. lol gail
