As you can see from my profile I am in SERIOUS trouble with health issues.
I have been on entocort steroids by mouth (3mg) daily for near on 10/15 yrs.
My crohns is not too bad at all. One resection in all that time, around the time of diagnoses or soon thereafter.
I dont have much crohns pain. I dont manage the diarrea well but it never was a prob until I became ill again in 05 with all the other stuff I mentioned like sjogrens, lupus , movement disorder and early PD and chronic muscle myopathy.
I feel its time to try get off the entocort. I dont usually have follow up with gastro,, rarely see him, some consultants say I must have my crohns checked regularly but I am not a fan of my gastro.
Any suggestions for getting off the steroid and tryng other meds instead.
I know I have to be careful. If it works why change. But I need to be careful with steroids now because of my other probs.
advise grateful received, or rather suggestions might be a better word or your own experiences etc.

Is there a reason you're not on immunosuppressants or a biological treatment like Remicade?

Oh, and do you know where your Crohn's is active? If it's low down, you may be able to treat it with a topical med.
