This is an embarrassing question - does anyone get acne around their buttocks/thighs?  I have gotten several pimples on my rear and top of thighs, I don't know if it is from being bedridden for a month, the 3 baths a day or the heavy moisturizer I was using on my legs.  This has never happened to me, has it happened to anyone else?
Thank you for being here to answer personal questions! :)

Yup, been there done that. I actually react poorly to the elastic in underwear and will get acne anywhere the elastic touches so have switched to pure comfort-no exposed elastic-all cotton very comfy-less acne. I am also on pred now so get acne anywhere for any reason.
Any immune suppressent med may also contribute to acne-fun isn't it!
Sorry you are going through this.

I can only use Dial soap. Lots of moisturizers will cause those types of break-outs on me. I can't use any moisturizers with mineral oil and some of the scents will cause trouble too. Even sun-block is an issue.

Sorry your having trouble. If I have to bathe too often, I sometimes use lotion instead of soap. When I'm using it in the shower, I can use up the stuff that I normally can't use. This keeps my skin from getting too dry.

Rosie I have the same level of sensitivity to products that make me break out in acne too, it's frustrating!  [Mineral oil is THE DEVIL, lol!]  I am allergic to dial soap though for some reason, so I use the softsoap antibacterial (it's kinda orange colored) instead.  I also found that for non-antibacterial soap I can use liquid lever 2000 and it doesn't make my skin break out and isn't too drying either.

As far as the acne topic, I used to always get that before I found bath & shower products that don't make my skin break out everywhere.  Now I just get breakouts in areas that have pressure on them (buttocks, top of thighs - from crossing my legs) since the weather is warm, and on my upper back for apparently no reason.  I found that they make these benzoyl peroxide wipes, I think they're from stridex?  and those help a lot.  The salicylic acid wipes seem to be too harsh for those parts of the body and cause redness and itching.  Scrubbing with a loofah helps too since it keeps dead skin from clogging pores and causing acne.

For moisturizer, aloe gel or aveeno lotion don't seem to cause more breakouts.

Hope that helps, wednesday!

If you see my post below about Hidradenitis SUpparativa. I get it really bad in ym groin. WHat I have is a severe case though, where each "zit" can be the sixe of a quarter and is really painful. They also leave horrible scars.

I find that whenever I put on weight it gets worse. It is also hormonal for me. There really isn't anything that helps it in terms of specific soaps though. I went to the doctor about it when I was younger and he put me on a prescription soap, but it was really expensive and didn't help.
