Hi everybody!  I hope everyone is doing OK.  I have a question for you:  2 days ago I decided while brushing my teeth, to also brush my gums (because I remembered that my doctor kept telling me to do so).  Next day I woke up with 2 mouth ulcers...  I never really had issues with mouth ulcers before, just once, but back then my mouth was full of them.  Now it's only these two and they are killing me!  They didn't spread.  Do you guys think it's because I brushed my gums too hard?

Also what can I do to get rid of them?  I don't want any more moedicines, if there is a natural remedy, I would love to hear about it!!  Here in Greece people use soda to wash their mouth, but it didn't help.  I also tried to put some toothpaste there because it contains soda, but boy did it hurt!!!

Lots of hugs

Christina

Wanna hear what my dad swears by? Swish with Hydrogen Peroxide. It burns really bad, but believe it or not it works. Another remedy I used to use is warm salt water, doesn't hurt as bad, but doesn't work as well. I would go to your doc. I had that problem once and it spread to the point where I had about 80 mouth ulcers. I couldn't eat or talk and had to go on Valtrex. The Valtrex worked really well and is a fairly mild medication.

Good luck.

Taking a good probiotic daily and indefinitely will keep mouth sores/ulcers at bay...I havn't had a single one since I stared taking primadophilus reuteri almost 4 yrs ago now...and I used to get them frequently.

I've had problems with mouth sores all of my life, but my mother came to my rescue.  She instructed me to rinse with Listerine mouthwash daily.  Works for me.  She's 89 by the way.

Also, there are several over-the-counter remedies available here in the US.  Kancaid is one of them.

Good luck.

Lysine or folic acid. Lysine has always worked for me (its an amino acid) but now I am on MTX I am told that folic acid will prevent them.
