I met all of you on here about a year ago when I was diagnosed in time to have resec surg. Well since then it has been a Chrons sponsored roller coaster ride. I actually went back to the hospital for a five day stay that started on Fathersday. Im out now but they have doubled my remicaide dose from 300-600. They also put me on 6MP. Im about to waive goodbye to the 6MP that has had me sick as a dog this past week

The pain has been the other problem and how to deal with it, without looking like someone searching for drugs. I have had some very good docs that have understood that every case of CD can be very different, so they have no problem making me the guinea pig to try new med combos. Right now I am taking Librax, Lomotil, 80 mg of Prednisone, Compazine, the new 6MP, Remicaide, Percocet and a Fentynal patch. I just cant shake this and get it into a complete remission.

I watch what I eat, about the only thing I am doing yet, but slowly stopping is my smoking. The other is my family claims I dont get enough sleep.

The dictionary is the only place where success comes before work.

So sorry you are having trouble. I also don't get enough sleep and I bet many of the Chronies here have the same problem. I think a lot of us are some tired people.

I have also tried to ask for pain meds and was told no. I felt like you did that people would think I was a drug seeker. I was not, just tired of pain. My docs believe to treat the reason for the pain not give pain meds :( So I only get Tylenol.

Hey Flash, I have  been down your route, and that was 5 years ago after a resection that was a nightmare.  sometimes they dont get all the diseased area and of course crohns can come back whenever it feels like it.  I thought I was dying, and was so sick, and now still have some issues, but Humira is helping me alot.  Remicade did nothing and was allergic.  I am also on Prednisone 4mg to get my lower right quad to settle, if this doesnt settle by fall then a 3rd surgery could be down the road.  But I am trying to do my best.  It is true like all combo's of drugs, everyone's disease is at different levels.  As for  not sleeping, it is true sleep is very important but the Prednisone is the culprit.  We all look for relief and it is nothing you are doing, it is the disease itself.  My thoughts are with you, try to stay calm, stress pays a major role, I hope  you feel better soon! Let us know how you are making out. eyes
P.S Incidently I used to smoke and quit 6 months prior to my surgery, and even if I didnt that would of made me vomit.  I have quit for 6 years, had to, or canadian doctors put you on the bottom of the list!

Tough times don't last long, tough people do!
