hi my name is lily, ive also written on the ibs forum but i just wanted to let you guys know my symptoms and see if anyone has any advice.  i am 20 years old and for the past 10 months i've suffered from severe pain after i eat ANYTHING it doesnt matter if it is a cracker or a piece of toast.  i have given myself a very strict diet no wheat, no gluten, no dairy, low sugar/fat, no eggs, no caffeine, very little fiber but even that doesnt work i am doubled over in pain all of the time. ive been living on rice and even that has begun to go straight through me.  i try to sneak food in as much as i can like a little chicken for protein because my hair became very thin and started falling out but after i have a couple bites of plain non seasoned, and no sauce just plain grilled chicken i get severe pain i start crying and im in the bathroom for 2-4 hours.  i've had to drop out of school and quit my job because i cant go an hour without pain.  its got to the point where even drinking water causes pressure.  i've had 2 colonoscopies, 1 endoscopy, 2 ct scans, 2 xrays, an mrcp, blood work all they found is gastroporesis and my doctors find that so wierd because my body isnt digesting food and is slowing down the process yet all the food is coming right out of me.  i dont know what else to do anymore this has affected my life in so many ways i cant go out because of the pain.  ive been told its ibs by 2 of the 4 doctors ive gone to but all of the people that ive spoken to with ibs said that they dont think that's what my problem is.  its like my body just doesnt tolerate food i dont know if that is possible i was just wondering if anyone suffering with crohns has had these symptoms, ive lost weight i've gone down to 90lbs which is having many people say its anorexia, which it is not i wish that was the answer i wish i was self provoking this but i'm not. opinions would be greatly appreciated in helping me feel like im not going crazy. thank you-lily

Can't help with your specific symptoms but can say that it has taken a lot of us a long time to be diagnosed. Don't get too upset by the word anorexic. It doesn't mean that you have an eating disorder and are trying to stay thin. The medical definition of anorexia is being unable to eat food... be it because of pain or because of a mental block.
26 Year old married female law student (last year!!). Diagnosed w/ CD 4 years ago, IBS for over 10 years before that, which was probably the CD. I am sort of lactose intollerant too but can handle anything cultured and do well w/ lactose pills and lactaid. For crohns I am currently on Pentasa 4 pills/4x day and hysociamine prn. I also have bad acid reflux and have been on PPI's since age 13. I have been through prilosec, prevacid, and nexium. Currently I am on Protonix in the morning and Zantac at night. I also take a birth control pill to allow some fun in my life.

I'm so sorry to hear you are hurting so much!  I haven't lost the weight you have but have periods when flaring that anything hurts.  I think you need to be seen and treated.  Are you currently on any medication, do you have a regular GI?  Are you in an area where you could go get a second opinion someplace major.   For instance, I went to the University about 3 hours away and got a second opinion.  You can't let this get out of control anymore than it is.  Your so miserable you deserve some help!  You are not alone, we are here for you,
