A little background:
I have Crohn's.  Never had bleeding, or mucous or weight loss.  Just diarhea.  I also have IBS so I have lived with it for years and years before I found out I had Crohn's (through a fistula).  This morning for the first time in several months I had a normal bm and it was almost totally covered with white stuff.  I guess that's the mucous.  Is it something I should be concerned about?
Seems strange it would pop up now because for the first time since Easter I haven't been running any low-grade fevers.  My doctor doesn't seem to be concerned about fevers or "d" because of the IBS also.  I'm tired of getting all worked up about something and it turns out to be nothing but I fear that if I don't stay on top of it I'll spiral downhill again.  Don't want anymore guts cut out.

I have always had mine covered it white "stuff" I really would not let it worry me. If you worry then you spiral down.

I was told that the body's normal process is to occasionally shed mucos in this fashion. Not sure if it happening suddenly is a big issue or not.

If this is a fairly new experiance for you and you are really concerned you could always mention it to your doc...rule of thumb often is to report any changes that are out of the ordinary for you.
