I don't post here to often, but I love to read all the posts. You guys are great! Is anyone on Lotronex? I was diagnosed with Chrons in May, although it has been suspected for about 15 years. I am not having any luck with getting the diarreha stopped, so the dr. wants to put me on Lotronex. I have been doing some reading, and am reading some things that are a little unsettling. Is anyone on it, or has anyone been on it, and what have your results been? Thank you for your help.

Hi Christine,
I am new here, but lurk and read daily.  Your post caught my attention and I wanted to come out from behind the curtain to respond!
I have taken Lotronex for over six months and have had no side effects whatsoever.  It does help out in addition to the Lialda that I take and occaisional rounds of entocort when things have gotten bad enough.  I take it twice daily and it has certainly cut down on the number of trips to the bathroom I make each day and I am not a hostage in my home anymore.  For me, it is a good thing.  I follow the instructions given to me by my GI, but I have never had any danger signs to report.
I should add that I do not have Crohn's, but a type of microscopic colitis called Lymphocytic Colitis.  In three years since diagnosis, I have not ever been in complete remission, but I feel bad complaining about that here, seeing what you guys go through.
Good Luck!

I tried it once, way back in the day, when they thought I had IBS. I wanted something stronger then Immodium for a vacation I was going on. So they gave me that. Knocked me out cold, and felt all loopy. Not good for a vacation. LOL Didn't do anything for my D either.
Diagnosed with Crohn's Disease 2/06 after sever GI bleed. Has been suffering since 1998. History of rectal fistula and gallbladder removal. Currently taking Prednisone: tapering down from 10 mg again, Asacol, Questran, Toprol XL (for high blood pressure).
