I got some sleep last night and the hips are less painful than they were yesterday, but I still have to be very careful not to stand for more than five minutes at a time. A big bonus is that I managed to wipe down all the surfaces with a duster yesterday, so things look a little cleaner here than they did.

I have appointments today, so my big pact is to limit my walking and standing so that I don't give myself a bad day tomorrow. So, I'll either drive or get a taxi there, and will NOT walk, as I normally would.

So... today:
* basic chores - do dishes (done), make bed, shower ( redface sitting down, if necessary), tidy the house in five-minute "power runs" (this includes unpacking my suitcase from the weekend and getting it off the lounge-room floor, where it has been sitting for 36 hours now).
* sweep / vacuum and wash as many floors as I have energy for, giving highest priority to the lounge room and kitchen
* make a list of things to discuss with my doctor
* make a shopping list
* get my pathology tests done

Mental health - either ring someone or go to the library and chat the the ladies there. Failing that, get in touch with someone by mail or email.

Crohn's and fibro care - get back on track with meds, do some stretching, do a little bit of exercise, even if it's upper-body stuff only.

I'd like to do the grocery shopping too, but will only do it if I think the energy and hips will be able to handle the strain. And bonus points if I free an afternoon to get a hair cut (I'm long overdue) and make the appointment. Extra bonus points if I play a game of chess or do 15 minutes of study.

Jo and sjkly, I hope you're feeling much better today. Gail, how's the kitchen looking? Fitzy, how did you go yesterday?

Ivy, ouchy still.

Ivy, I will pray that everyday gets better for you. You make me somewhat ashamed of myself-I am doing pretty well today but I don't seem to accomplish all the things you do even when you are not well.
I managed to finish my July billing today.
I am leaving the dishes for the housekeeper (I don't like to do that as that means she has less time for other things).

I still have a few major projects that need to be done but am having a hard time finding the energy to do them after taking care of the things that have to be done each day. The main things I need to do are get rid of some of the clothes that I will never wear again, and clean up the clutter that has invaded every surface of my home.
So tomorrow-keep taking care of my poor dog (his ear is still so swollen)
Clean off the top of my television (it is the smallest surfacei in the house)
Work all day-actually have a longer then usual work day.
Eat properly

Hi all!

I've been slacking on the pacting. I know...bad, bad :-)
I've been sick with pink eye(3x), lice and a non-stop cold. If you haven't already guessed, I work at a daycare and I've only been there 4 weeks. I think it's time for a new job. So my Wednesday pacting is to...

-apply for one job
-clean kitchen
-get to the gym
-sweep carpets and wash floors
-work a full day of work without going home sick :-)

Let's hope I can do it! Best of luck to everyone's pacting!

OK, it's 5pm and I'm here to check in.

Have swept and mopped two floors but haven't done the lounge room floor *and* the suitcase is *still* there, unpacked... Something tells me it may end up being on Thursday's list of things to do :-)

I went to the doctor by taxi, did the pathology, and then got brave and decided to see if I could walk part of the way home. I managed two or three blocks; crashed with exhaustion by the time I reached the library and caught a taxi home with a bag-full of books and a couple of essential groceries. However, at least I went to the library and talked to people! And the exercise is done too, even if the stretching isn't.

sjkly, don't feel guilty about not doing as much as I am. I am actually doing better than I have for at least ten years. This is me, relatively (for me) healthy, even if I am still in pain. A lot of this activity is me trying to catch up on things that have been neglected for a decade. If you're sick, you're sick, and you do what you can.

Jo, that's really not good that you're so unwell. Can you put in an emergency call to your doctor, or just go to casualty? *hug* I really am sorry. What a horrible setback, just when you were starting to improve. This disease is so unfair... (btw, will you be able to get to Sam's graduation, or is your health getting too bad for that?)

Go, April, go! What an inspiring list!!

I'm still recovering from my afternoon out. Will go and make dinner and watch an episode of "Press Gang" (borrowed on DVD from the library - remember that show, Jo?) and maybe think about doing another floor later tonight when perhaps I'll have a bit more energy.

Oh, I have to share this: at the shops I bought a loaf of wholemeal bread, just to see if I can eat it. Talk about exciting - it's my first piece of non-white bread in six years. Am going to start with one slice only, just to see what happens.

Ivy, with improving Crohn's but deteriorating everything else. Blargh...

LOL. Quote from "Press Gang":

Lynda to headmaster - "Sir! You just spent *eight minutes* in the toilet! How can you possibly spend eight minutes in there?!"

How nice to know that we're so unusual...
