Ok when I said I could not wait for the energy to clean my house, being up and doing it at 3 am is not what I had in mind LOL! So just how early do I need to take this darn Pred. so I can actually sleep at night! I must say though I think I am starting to feel a little better, kind of hard to tell though because I had a CT yesterday and all that barrium drink made me deathly ill I swear I still smell and taste it every time I breathe UGGGGG!

Oh nooo... Hope you weren't up too long. Take it as early as possible. The getting up in the middle of the night should go away, at least for me it did anyway. MY GI doctor also told me I could use Tyonol PM to help me sleep if I needed to. I only took it for about 2 weeks.
I'm sorry your still tasting the barrium stuff. I never had to drink that stuff yet.

I had to get a prescription sleeping pill from my doctor for a short while while I was on really high dose pred - I was bouncing off the walls...and started getting really cranky! It improved once I began to taper, and then the pills were not needed. My doctor was somewhat hesitant to prescribe a sleep aid, but figured it wouldn't do any harm for a short duration. It was very helpful.
I hope things improve soon for you!

monkeychic -

When I am on this less-than-wonderful medication, I too was up most of the night. I ended up taking it at 5:00 in the morning to allow me to get to bed at a decent time. I guess I need to also confess something here. I was supposed to start out on eight of those darn things... could not take more than four! They completely gork my system waaaaaaay out. So four at 5 a.m it was, then three, then two, then one. I also ended up asking doctor for sleep aide for the time I was on it. That helped immensely.

Good luck!

At high doses by 6 am for sure. There was a point at the highest dosage that I was up to 2 am, which was for a few weeks. Thankfully once I started to taper, even a little, I was able to sleep better. But yes, take it EARLY. LOL
