Hi Everyone,
I've been on steroids (Prednisolone) many times in the past and just recently had a two week course. Just a boost - no tapering just to calm down some inflammation. Although the hamster cheeks didn't get particularly big, I've noticed after 4 weeks that my face looks more rounded than normal. In the past my cheeks have returned to normal pretty quickly. I'm just wondering if anyone has been left with a permanent slightly more rounded face from using steroids. I'm 19 and just a bit concerned that my rounded face still hasn't gone - and I don't want to be stuck with it!
thanks in advance

Ah yes, the chipmunk cheeks. I feel like marshmallow man...It usually takes about a month for me to return to "normal," whatever normal is!

But to add to that, I've been on the 'roids for about two months now and my cheeks are going down each week. They are still very chipmunk like, but I have noticed they are not quite as chipmunk like as they were when I was on 40mg (I'm on 10mg now).

I have the chipmunk cheeks too. I've been on prednisone since May and trying to get off it. When I was on it 8 years ago it took a few months
after I got off it for the moon face to go away.

I  think the cheek syndrome will go away, you will have to give it time. I was on the evil pred. for over a year, so it took some time for the side effectd to go away. Just hang in  there.

dont worry!! my twin sister has ulcerative colitis (of course i have to have chrons!) and she was on and off prednisone since she was about 16 or 17..she is now 21 and over the past few years, including in her first years of college, she has lost all her weight and including in her face!! it was rounder for about a year or so and just got smaller and smaller over time...i think urs will disappear too! it just takes some time in the face i guess!! but it should go away!

My face has rounded a little bit from it too, but that went away before pretty quickly after I tapered down the first time. I'm sure the puffy cheeks will leave you fairly soon :) Hopefully they mean you're feeling better though.
