Hi everybody:

I was diagnosed with Crohns and Colitis several years ago. My Crohns was picked up on the test where you
drink the chalk drink (barium I think) and they stand you up to this huge imaging unit. I had it done
at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN results were it was in my small intestine just before the opening of my
large intestine. Can this be picked up from a Colenoscopy?

It depends on the doc. My doc was willing to go only a certain amount to my small intestines to see if it has spread up ward. But a good portion can be dectected with a colonoscopy..

There are moments in your life that makes you and sets the course of who you're going to be. Sometimes there little, subtle moments. Sometimes, they're big moments you never saw coming. No one ask for their life to change, but it does. It's what you do afterwards that counts. That's when you find out who you are.

It is very likely that if you have inflammation from Crohns in the terminal ileum (the last few inches of the small intestine) it will also be visible or at least detectable by biopsy) in the cecum, which is the first segment of the large intestine. Those two areas are the most common location for active disease and it is rare for one to be involved and not the other.

Heya Lucky. You from the area? I live in St. Charles.

I'm pretty sure with mine they saw somethin on the barium scan thingy, but they went in afterwards with a scope to check it out, and only after that did I get my diagnosis.
