My soon to be 16 year old is driving, talk about mind-blowing! I remember him driving his little plastic tractor all over the house and running into every wall and cabinet he could. I hope that's not an idea of what's to come! Good luck with the boyfriend thing, my son and his friends seem to have new girlfriends every couple of months complete with all the breakup drama every time!
diagnosed w/Crohn's 11/06. 34f with 2 boys, a lovable dog, and a wonderful husband. 150 mg Imuran, bentyl, vicodin as needed, metoprolol for orthostatic hypotension and heart palpitations. Bowel resection 9/07. Doc says no active disease, but flare-ups anyway. 11 year old son with IBS-C, on Bentyl.

I guess I should be happy she likes boys. Though, if that were not the case, it would be okay too as long as she is happy. We had a loooooong talk about boys and how she shouldn't put herself in a situation where she could be "harmed"... a/k/a not allowed to be alone with a boy at ANY time!! over-protective? H@ll yes!!

Driving! Ouch... another thing to look forward to. From what I understand the parents now are required to carry auto insurance for teenager drivers. Sure hope she's a good driver. Best of luck to your son too!!

I just got back from college orientation a half hour ago for my younger daughter! Oh boy. In one week my husband and I will be empty nesters. We haven't been alone in 21 years. Lucky for us we still like each other! But we are both a little sad. They really do grow up so fast.

My baby girl started school today also. She's a junior in high school. I love my kids so very much but I'm ready to be an empty nester. I've been a mom for almost 28 years.

Well from a relatively young empty nester, you will love it. My girls are 30, 29, 26 and all have been out of the house for a few years. I just turned 50 this past October and let me tell you life is grand. Its so nice to be able to put something away and go back and find it in the same spot you put it. Now I just listen to my two oldest daughters going thru the trials with their kids. My oldest granddaughter turned 11 last week and just started jr. high, and is giving her mom a time with "the attitude". I told her that was pay back for all she did to me:) She tries to apologize but I always tell her too late:) LOL

My middle daughter is going thru her sad times as her baby starts kindergarden on Sep 2nd. Kids sure do grow fast.
