I posted in a thread about
some quilts I was going to mail out for marketing and was asked if I quilt.
It is a hobby that I enjoy. It satisfies my creative side and leaves behind something beautiful and functional.
I do everything by machine and send my best works out to a professional quilter (who also uses a machine). I recently bought fabrics to make a dozen identical horse-themed quilts to sell. Because of my health, I cannot sit at trade shows, horse shows or fairs. I had thought about using CraigsList or eBay, but I really didn't want to do that. Someone I know who markets t-shirts at horse shows offered (for a small fee) to display my quilts at the State Fair this year.
This will be a first for me. All quilts I've made in the past were made for myself or as gifts for family and friends. This will be the first time I'll be selling...and the weirdest thing for me, is knowing they are going to people I don't know. It sort of 'hurts' to let them go to strangers.
*may I post links to photos of some of my quilts and past projects?
What are everyone else's hobbies? What do you like to do that makes you happy?
I have the ability of single-minded determination and accurate project focu....Hey, look, a cat!
Crohn's and UC are pretty darn crappy, but if you can't laugh at yourself, you'll cry.
I'd much rather laugh.
2001 Dx'd with UC. No remission. 5/2008 surgery, removal of 6" of left side colon. Dx changed to Crohn's. Remission for 8-9wks after surgery, symptoms returning after resuming 6MP.
