EruditePaul..........I am very interested in how you are treated with the chinese medicines. What exactly are you taking, diet etc? I have started to see a TCM acupunturist...starting off slow with accupunture, B12 and liver detox drops and a lax tea. The cost is soo expensive, going 2-3 times a week, I don't know if I can keep going? Chinese diet and lifestyle I have so much respect for and am very interested in the foods.
I regularly drink a half cup of herbal water made of some 16 different herbs, twice a day. The herbs were purchased in China and was prescribed by a TCM doctor in Beijing, China. I boil the herbal mix by myself in a pot. I do not know how to translate those herbs into English, but many Chinese use them.
As for food remedy, Chinese pearl barley is considered as both food and medicine in China. Most of the breakfast, I eat gruel/porridge made of well/slow cooked white rice and Chinese pearl barleys in addition to some bread buns. If I have diarrhea, I would add Chinese yams, if needed.
Diagnosed with CD in 1994;
