From what I read here it seems that tapering down from pred seems to be a difficult thing. Is it difficult for everyone?
Right now I'm on a six week course of Entocort, and am taking 3 capsules each morning. My schedule is 3 each morning for 4 weeks, and then down to 2 each morning for another two weeks, and then down to 1 and then off.
I know Entocort isn't exactly the same as pred, but am I going to have difficulty doing this taper? I'm a huge baby and fuss and moan about basically everything that has to do with meds. The only times I have been on pred is when I was in hospital...and a 4 day course the last time I got out of the hospital.
I'm also taking 6 Asacol a day along with the Entocort. Anyway, is there something I can do to beef up my system before dropping the Entocort? I'm currently taking probiotics, fishy oils, l-glutamine, digestive enzymes, a multi and a blob of coconut oil in my morning cereal. Any other suggestions? Thanks!
