....more powerful than a locomotive?...and able to leap tall buildings at a single bound?

I keep reading how peeps like Entocort. I've been on it for about 6 weeks now, tapering from 3 a day down to 2 a day (for the past two weeks)...and I feel less like doing anything than I did when I was flaring. What's up with that? Shouldn't I be hyper and housecleaning and stuffing my face and an insomniac by now? I feel better gut-wise, but I just don't feel like doing ANYTHING but slumping around and cussing. I definitely cannot trust anything that comes flying out of my mouth. Anyone else have this kind of experience on Entocort? I was SO hoping to get my house cleaned when I started on it! smhair

I ONLY get that way on Prednisone. The Entocort is a MUCH milder steroid to me and does NOT affect me like Pred does. With Pred, I get it all - OCD behavior (seriously, cleaning, organizing), moon face, weight gain, insomnia, buffalo hump...you name it... I have it! Oh, and I have cataracts from that and I get lovely hair growth where it's not supposed to grow!

But, with Entocort, not a single symptom. I just wish it worked for me!

I was like that with Entocort the first 2 or maybe it was 3 times I was on it. I was really sick at the time though. It helped with my symptoms but no energy and no extra appetite. This time I'm not as sick, just using it as maitenance until Humira starts, and while I don't have much extra energy, I am definitely eating way too much! I've never been on prednisone so I can't compare to that.

Probably because it doesn't go through your whole system like Prednisone does. Which is actually why I'm doubting it would help me much, since my last flare seemed to effect a lot more then just my intestines!
The energy was nice on pred, I felt "normal" for a change!

Gonna agree with you on this one.

Entocort has helped me intestine-wise. I did not notice a change in appetite and have not gained much weight. When I was on 3/day I had dizziness and occasionally still do, now on 2/day.

I have NO energy and I have a lot of trouble focusing/reading and concentrating on tasks. Needless to say, productivity at work is waaay down.

Well, OH CRAP!
I am weaning off Pred (pain was comign abck after weaning started) and am on Entocort (started yesterday).  I was feeling AWESOME on Prednisone.  You have me worried about the entocort.
I want it to kick in NOW and take the pain away.  I also want to feel like i'm going somewhere!  Hmmmmmmm.....
Mom to 5 little ones.  First dx of crohn's in 2003 (while pg with #4), then it was changed to IBS.  2/08 I was rediagnosed with crohn's. Most of my crohn's is int he sigmoid colon and decending colon.  I'm responding to crohn's treatment, so they say it isn't my Endo.  It is very hormonally charged though.
I'm currently taking Pentasa 4 2X daily
3mg Entocort
weaning off small dosage of Pred.

I find it does do remarkable things for the gut pain I had. No cramping right now. It's just that I was hoping for some energy and huge appetite.

The hugh appetite comes with prednisone. I ate evrything that was not nailed down. My wife had to hire a rodeo clown to destract me so she could get the groceries in the house. I did not have much luck with entocort.
If we would read the secret history of our enemies,we would find in each mans life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility.
