Hi everyone, this is my first entry on your site. I have been reading lots of posts since I was diagnosed in July, but now finally am showing my face (so to speak) I have been on prednisone for the last month and a half, and now that I am off of it my doctor wants to put me on cimzia. Does anyone have any opinions about cimzia? I havent noticed a lot of people taking it and I am nervous. I dont have medical insurance so my doctor is trying to help me in whatever way he can, and I guess cimzia is willing to start me for free. Any info would help.

Welcome to the forum you should be able to get a lot of answers here. Cimzia is a realitivly new drug to the crohn's disease world as it was only approved since April of this year. It is a anti TNF agents similar to Humira and Remicade, both of which have provided a lot of help with crohns disease patients. Sorry to hear you were diagnosed and I hope you get good results from Cimzia. There should be a couple people along shortly who have direct experience with cimzia. Here is a link to a thread on Cimzia

Hi Love!  Welcome to HW!  I'm sorry that you have to be here (Crohn's is no walk in the park), but I'm glad that you found us.  I was just like you--I read and read and read posts for months before finally signing on!

As you've already witnessed, you will not find another place with so much love, support, information, experience, and opinions :)

As for Cimzia, you can probably google and find some of their clinical trial data.  I'm pretty sure they offer assistance for people without insurence.  Keep us posted on how you're doing!
