Hi there, I've been doing a ton of research on Asacol which my GI has me on 3 tablets 3 times a day (should I mention still not in remission) but I've only been semi diagnosed since September. I finally got in touch my with my late fathers family and all of the women on that said have Crohn's. Genetics mad   I've had super dark urine almost dark brown since starting the Asacol. They've done all sorts of kidney tests and urine tests but of course I don't have the dark urine when they need to test it. It comes and goes I find I need to drink a ton of water. Has anyone else had the dark urine from it. One site I found said it's from the dark coating and late break down of the pill. I just sort of feel nervous everytime I see the dark urine. Thanks a bunch, Brie

Brie, a year or so ago there was a long thread here that featured the dark and STAINING urine caused by Asacol and Pentasa. Many have noticed what you have. Some have also endured tests to determine the cause of their "kidney" problems. Many have had to replace their toilet seats due to the splattering of urine causing stains on the seats. While I jave never been on either product, I do recall this thread talking about it. I will try to locate it for you.

Update: Here's the thread: http://www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=38&m=601324
