ok so a week after having the root canal, i went back and had it finished... but not before puking on the dental assistant!  OMG, ive never even imagined that before... everything was going fine, i had not vomited for a weeks or more with all the antibiotics and percosets etc.. matter  of fact i had not had any for a few days.. he was scraping out the holes again and i had the dental dam in so no bad tastes or anything to trigger it.. all of a sudden i heard him say real loud, SUCTION!!, and before i knew it i was throwing up volumes of mostly solids all over my right shoulder and the girls legs... how embarrassing!  i kept appologizing and they kept saying it was ok . but iknew they were not happy campers.. a new girl came in and we got my shirt off and they continued working on my tooth while the first girl went and changed... ok so i figure that if they got spare scrubs, it MUST happen often enough to warrent extra clothes. but still i could die of shame..  im gonna send a "sorry" note along with some kind of treat for the office on monday....  but the good news is it seems to have worked and today was mostly pain free and i chewed on that side gingerly but still was able too. smilewinkgrin

Randy, Nothing to die of shame from. I have a friend who works as a dental hygenist she gets thrown up on at least once a week (she says it is the ladocaine injections to the mouth that make people sick). Since they are numbed up there is no way people can control it.

oh how awful, I hate throwing up in front of people....I could not imagine throwing up on them. yikes!

I am glad you are feeling better though.

If it makes you feel better I would send a card or something but I am sure she is used to it like Navy said. that is why they wear scrubs and not regular clothes.
