I have and get terrible back pain as well, I was actually hospitalized last year when it went out. My Dr feels that the inflammation in my back is probably caused by the inflammation in my intestines ( a secondary effect?) and when my tummy is under control my back should follow. Not sure how I feel about
that, cuz I haven't been well for a year and a half with my intestines or my back.....so I am not sure why we haven't changed my meds to get my IBD under control, which in turn would help my back!?!
I do believe they are related tho, and I am now having some neuropathy problems that my Dr thinks is also connected. More inflammation.....go figure.
I put my heating pad on my back, take valium or other painreliever depending on severity, and the hardest one is resting flat out and NOT doing anything for a day or so. I remind myself of my last hospital stay when I feel I should be doing something instead of resting my back.
