so since I last talked to you all..i had, had a CT but no results...believe it or not---STILL no results---the lortab were working and now they are doing nothing...I've had NO BOWEL movements now for a week...still passing gas...hurting so bad tonight put in call to on call doc asking what to do because I now have severe swelling (edema) in my feet, still temp, nausea---cant eat much, and low bp with high heartrate
I need answers---so tonight if the doc doesnt call me back, Im going to an ER and camping out. Ive taken two 7.5 mg hydracodone and it didnt even touch my pain---its not excruciating but its very very very uncomfortable crampy pain--it hurts enough to cry is what I mean.  (& no cramps that even bring on somewhat of a bowel movement) wth?
I will let ya'll know what happens--Im wondering if I could have a paralytic bowel? is that the same thing as a blockage, cause I didnt think so

Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength

Hydrocodone will cause severe constipation. It should respond to laxatives, though. There are a couple of conditions that could stop the bowel function. One is a rectal inflammation that results in loss of peristalsis. Since you have cramps, that does not quite sound like the problem. The cramps sound like a bowel stricture or a partial blockage. It may be a combination of the hydrocodone and a stricture that is responsible. It could also be a gallstone. If you have not had any help from laxatives, you need to get to the ER.
