. It is still real sore    Hello it is the next day.The dr that did my ct and put the drains in came to see me this morning. I told him my surgeon was talking about letting me go home with the drains in and coming back in next week for a scan and to see about taking them out. There is not a lot of draining today. I had to have another bag of potassium though. I went on oral medication. My stomach is still really swollen and from the surgery around my belly button my bottom incision is oozing. Is this normal?  You poor thing if i had to wear these drains that long i would go insane. They did not do a cat scan before surgery only a colonoscopy. And wow he said they were the biggest absesses he'd ever seen. He thinks i might have had a small tear that fixed itself. The surgeon hasn't said anything like that. Now how would it fix its self? I can eat regular  foods though  I wouldn't mind going home but i live 45 minutes away and don't need to be rushing back so will see how tonight goes. Any thoughts? Jersey

Hi Jersey I'd give it a little more time and not rush going home since you were so sick yesterday. Are you up walking much or in bed? A little drainage is better out then in after what you been threw no wonder you are draining, I had a little drainage not much. . Glad to hear there is some improvement for you. So you are eating that is good. Yah they had said my abcess was a biggie when I had it and it was painful. You have done great since yesterday so keep up and hope things are even better tomorrow for you. So it seems they are taking pretty good care of you, keep in touch when you can. Getting lots of company ,and how are the bed mates? lol gail
