This could be a dumb question, but a stomach bug has been going around my household, hitting just about everyone.  Anyhow, it seemed to hit me worse than others.  Can having Crohn's on top of a Stomach Virus/bug make the D, gas and nauseau even worse than in someone who doesn't have Crohn's?
Thanks all!

I think our immune systems are a little weaker so we tend to have the bugs hit us a little harder. I know when I get a stomach bug it is always much worse for me than for my very healthy husband.
Been living with Crohn's Disease for 33 years.  Currently on Asacol, Prilosec, Estrace, Prinivil, Diltiazem, Percoset prn for pain, Zofran, Phenergan, Probiotics, and Calcium.  Resections in 2002 and 2005.  Also diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Osteoarthritis. Currently my Crohns is in remission.

My GI told me that bugs can make my crohns flare slightly from the extra stress on my system so it may be that we feel it longer too because of a small flare with the stomach bug.

Bad flare May '06 resulted in CD diagnosis
Asacol: 4800 mg/day; Entocort: 9mg/day; Metronidazol
Started seeing a Naturopath-Castor Oil Packs, Liquid B Complex, Floragen, Ribes Nigrum, Herbal GI, Chlorella

Sometimes stomach bugs will put me into a full-blown flare. I definitely get sicker than my healthy husband and friends.

Considering our immune systems are suppose to be weaker than healthy people, the last time I had a stomach bug  (and was throwing up from it) was 14 yrs ago and I've had flaring CD for 17 yrs, so those are pretty good odds, especially with having 2 kids going to school for all those yrs bringing home all kinds of bugs, I've probably not gotten as sick as the rest of my family has...I very rarely get colds either and I'm not prone to getting the winter flu bug so I don't get flu shots either, never have, never plan considering our immune systems with having CD are compromised I do very well in regards to getting sick, then again maybe I'm catching a break since I've never been in full remission my entire 17 yrs of having CD...weird eh.

My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it! LOL :)
