I've been trying different things to find a way to help with the oh-so-painful Humira shots, and finally found the best method. Let the pen sit out for at least an hour to get it to room temperature. Since our house was kind of cold yesterday, I placed the pen under a blanket with me so that it would warm up. It decreased the pain of the shot by 75%. It felt pretty much like a normal needle prick. Plus, I didn't get my usual red itchy welt at the injection site. Cold concentrated medicine must really irritate the tissue.

I hope this helps some of you out :-)! I've done my last 3 shots like this, and am finally getting over the dread of these things.

I tried the same thing for the last two actually and I have to agree!! It makes a HUGE difference. The only thing I'm wondering is if it effects the strength of the medicine in any way....
