I was wondering if anyone had any type of remedies for dehydration? Anything that you may have tried that has worked for you? All of the regular things I have tried such as drinking till I feel like the ocean does not work for me. I was also wondering if anyone else notices when they begin to get dehydrated if they also begin to get depressed. I struggle constantly with Malnurishment and Dehydration from my Crohns Disease. I am tried so many different things the one I have recently found that seems to bring me some relief has been of all things watermelon. But you can only eat so much watermelon. Once I get dehydrated however I get so very depressed to the point I do not even want to move. I am usually in the hospital once every month to two months to be rehydrated and get food in bag .Ugggg. I have short bowel from resection and now I am struggling with my meds. I have been on Humira for about 8 months now the first 6 months I did great then it stopped working for me. The doctor has now placed me on weekly injection of Humira as well as Methotrexate and now I am loosing weight rapidly I have lost 19 pounds in 2 weeks. My disease is very active but it has been. Does anyone know of any other way to hydrate the body ? I am currently  also trying pedia lyte popcicles. Thanks for your thoughts before hand

Hi When I was very ill I drank gatorade and my teens Dad had brought me some cans that I mixed. I enjoyed the taste too .It was a good drink for me .Wow you lost 19lbs. in 2 weeks that is a lot. Ensure and boost are also good drinks as they have calories and nutrition. Jello also has lots of water in in .Broth too. Cream of chicken soup mixed with water is good, hope this helps some. lol gail

if you can tolerate anything with bubbles, perrier or pellegrino with cranberry or apple or oj is good- the water cuts the sugar somewhat.

I was having a problem with dehydration also and my GI doctor suggested that I start drinking the new Vitamin water that is out. I really like it they have several different kinds. The XXX is my favorite. It is a pomergrate flavor.
Good luck, I hope you feel better soon.

I would recommend drinking water also don't drink anything with large amounts of sugar.

Potatoes and bananas have alot of potassium in them, you might want to try that. Also, my GI recommends that I also drink Pedialyte or sip Gatorade every 5 minutes to help increase my potassium. Good luck!

Enough water daily and use pedialyte rather than gatoraid, gatoraid has lots of junky stuff, pedialyte is better for you.

I drink lots of boiled (tea kettle) water mixed a little bit with Juicy Juice. However, the water that I drink is ALWAYS room temperature, NEVER icy cold or hot. Extremely cold and/or hot liquids will stimulate the intestine and cause diarrhea. Juicy Juice has no added sugar or high fructose corn syrup. My favorite is strawberry banana. I pour a little bit of it, (perhaps a quarter of a cup, maybe a little less,) and the rest is water. It adds flavor , and makes plain water SOOOO much easier to tolerate. I do not drink ensure or boost since all the sugar upsets my stomach.
