Hi all,

I've been on 40 mg of Prednisone now for 15 days, and there has been no change in my flare. Still bloody D, cramping, back pain, getting up 5+ times a night, nausea etc. Of course the Dr. office is closed today, so I will call on Monday ASAP to get an appointment. I feel like something should have changed after 15 days of prednisone.
Rachael - 24 years old, diagnosed with CD in Dec. of 2004.

Currently on 40 mg of Prednisone, 2.4mg Lialda, and 100mg Azathioprine.

I thank God every day for an amazing support network of family, my boyfriend who has been there since the beginning, and my friends who never waver.

I second what the others have said. I stayed on 40 mg for about two weeks also and nothing happened. My flare got worse and worse until I had lost enough blood and fluid so I couldn't stand or stay awake. I went into the ER and they hooked me up to IV steroids and fluids. The intravenous steroids should help jump start things so that the tablets will work later. That's what they told me anyway.

I agree with L Mills.  It took 100MG of IV steriods for 1 week to get it to jump start for me.  The pills alone didnt do anything until I had the IV then after that I was fine. =)
