Hi, can anyone tell me if they know of any hospitals in the Uk that would do an internal j pouch if got Crohn's? I have no large bowel, and a stoma. I know not many hospitals in the UK will do this. Thanks!

J-pouches aren't usually a success for Crohn's sufferers...make sure you check the success rate if someone says they will do one!

I have had a J-Pouch, now for over 2 yrs.   and i have had a bag for 3 months.  It really has its ups and downs.  I think if i was to do it all again i would consider using the bag. Pros and cons for both of them.  Pro for the bag is, you can eat what ever you want, you do not have to be on the look out for the next bathroom, you don't have to get up in the middle of the night to mad dash to the bathroom.  con's for the bag for me was getting the right bag for the right fit.  which means if you don't have the right fit it leaks, not a fun thing, having to never go with out a shirt, and just having it dangle during the intimate times.  i had my large intestine removed due to ulcers on it.  I also have to take remicade.  i would check out the remicade before going to the Pouch.  i wish i would have.  docs never told me about the remicade.  angers me to no end.
