Firstley merry xmas to everyone, My advice iam looking for is should i get a bag temp,due to iv had 3 surgaryies all in the sml bowel and now it looks like i have a parcial blockage again also suffer with fistulars . I have been in pain for allmost 8mnths now on and off but to scared to eat alot incase also i get exscutiating wind pains 1hr later and thats embarrising as you no ,i only weight 40kg was 48 in march so things arnt looking good can anyone tell me there exsperiances with getting a bag and is it a quick recovery or slow thankyou. idea

Hi I guess it is a personal decision but 8 months of pain is a long time and your weight is not the best. I am sure there are some on here that might help you with some of your questions. Has your Dr. said that you need another operation? lol gail

THANKYOU FOR YOUR REPLY,my doc hasent said i need an op but i know that its risky for me to loose anymore sml bowel would my quality of life be any better you think.

I have never had a bag myself, but from hearing from others who have, they said while it took a bit to adjust to the bag, they did and felt so much better with it. They were able to eat more too if I recall correctly. Maybe try posting on the ostomy board, maybe they can give you better advice. Good luck!
Been living with Crohn's Disease for 33 years.  Currently on Asacol, Prilosec, Estrace, Prinivil, Diltiazem, Percoset prn for pain, Zofran, Phenergan, Probiotics, and Calcium.  Resections in 2002 and 2005.  Also diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Osteoarthritis. Currently my Crohns is in remission.
